TFS / SP1 issues#

Was trying to upgrade one of our TFS instances to SP1. As a prereq, you need to install KB919156 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919156) but I was getting a strange error:

Error 32000 : ConfigureNTLM.exe /addntlm "Team Foundation Server" returned non-zero value

After checking the log file the hotfix made, the problem was obvious. I had changed the name of the IIS virtual server to its full dns name (tfs01.company.com) but the hotfix couldn't find the virtual server by name. Was looking for an IIS VWS called "Team Foundation Server". Changing the name back to "Team Foundation Server" fixed the problem.

Friday funnies...#

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg, looking a bit pissed off, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says, "Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question."

LOL

Zune 360 and 180 in the wings...#

Microsoft is refreshing the Zune line after slow initial sales. Two new versions will hit the streets:

Zune 306 - includes 40gb or 80gb disk, full length screen, touch sensitive screen and writing recognition (? why??)

Zune 180 - size of an iPod Nano, larger screen and has phone capabilities!

Should be an interesting year for mp3 / phone markets :)
